FC Obolon Kyiv
FC Obolon Kyiv is a well-established, historic, and community-driven professional Ukrainian football club based in the northern Obolon district of Kyiv. Universally known as "Pivovary" (The Brewers) or "Zeleno-Bili" (The Green-and-Whites), the team competes in the Ukrainian Premier League and plays its home matches at the compact, football-specific Obolon Arena.
Founded in 1992 as Zmina, the club took the name Obolon in 1993 following sponsorship from the famous Obolon Brewery. Dressed in traditional green and white kits, the Brewers built a strong youth development pipeline and steadily rose through the Ukrainian league hierarchy to reach the top-flight Ukrainian Premier League for the first time in 2002.
Obolon gained national fame during its top-flight campaigns for its giant-killing reputation, most notably in the 2010–11 season when they completed a legendary double over Ukrainian powerhouses Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv. Following a structural reorganization in 2013 as Obolon-Brovar, the club rebuilt its professional foundation, culminating in a return to the Ukrainian Premier League in 2023.
Obolon maintains intense capital city rivalries, most notably local Kyiv derby clashes against Dynamo Kyiv and Livyi Bereh, alongside regional encounters with Kolos Kovalivka.
