FC Chornomorets Odesa is one of Ukrainian football’s most historic, culturally vibrant, and deeply cherished clubs, based in the major Black Sea port city of Odesa. Universally known as "Moryaky" (The Sailors) or "Syno-Chorni" (The Blue-and-Blacks), the club plays its home matches at the iconic Chornomorets Stadium, situated right in the historic Shevchenko Park near the sea.

Founded in 1936 as Dynamo Odesa before adopting the maritime name Chornomorets in 1958, the club traditionally plays in black and blue vertical stripes. During the Soviet era, Chornomorets established itself as a top-tier fixture, capturing Soviet Top League Bronze medals in 1974 and winning the Soviet Federation Cup in 1990 while producing legendary attacking talent like Soviet Footballer of the Year Igor Belanov.

Following Ukrainian independence, Chornomorets cemented its status as a domestic titan by winning the first two editions of the Ukrainian Cup (1992, 1994) and finishing as league runners-up twice. In the modern era under Roman Hryhorchuk, the Sailors reached the 2013 Ukrainian Cup final and enjoyed a memorable run to the UEFA Europa League knockout stages in 2014, earning wide acclaim for their tactical sophistication.

Chornomorets maintains passionate rivalries across Ukraine, most notably historical Southern Derby battles against Metalist Kharkiv, alongside high-stakes coastal encounters with SC Dnipro-1 and regional Black Sea clashes.
